“Will James Potter please step up to the Head Table?” asked McGonagall during dinner.
James glanced at his friends and walked to his Head of House.
“Professor, I promise, I haven’t committed any crimes yet! I’ve just gotten back from home!”
“I very well know that, Potter! Your brother has been injured,” said McGonagall.
“Oh. Is he okay?”
“Minerva! It’s an emergency! The boy must be transferred to St. Mungo’s, at once!” called Professor Slughorn.
“What? Why?” barked McGonagall.
“Poppy’s confirmed he’s been hit with Dark Magic. The stings will not cease!”
“Irma! Owl Mr. and Mrs. Potter and alert them of their son’s condition. Tell them to go to St. Mungo’s. Immediately, Irma!”
Madam Pince nodded and Transfigured her ketchup bottle into a piece of parchment.
“Harry, will you let the bloody owl in?” asked Ginny. “I’m trying to finish dinner!”
There was no answer. Ginny sighed. “Lily, go let the owl in.”
“Okay, Mum.” Lily opened the window. “Mum, the owl’s from Hogwarts!”
“What?” asked Ginny, drying her hands, walking into the sitting room. Lily opened the letter. The two read.
“HARRY JAMES POTTER!” screeched Ginny frantically.
“What, Ginny?” asked Harry speeding down the stairs.
“Grab your coat, Harry, Lily, grab your coat. Albus is in St. Mungo’s!”
“WHAT?” shouted Harry, handing Lily her coat.
“They say he’s in a fatal state!”
“Come on, there’s no time. We’ll have to Floo there.”
The three huddled in the fireplace and Harry grabbed a fist full of Floo powder. “ST. MUNGO’S HOSPITAL!”
They arrived at St. Mungo’s and Ginny ran to the receptionist desk. “We’re here for Albus Potter!” shouted Ginny.
“Room 507, Magical Accidents,” said the receptionist.
Harry picked Lily up and he and Ginny walked into another fireplace. “Room 507, Magical Accidents!”
The three appeared in Albus’ waiting room. Rose, James, McGonagall, and Scorpius were there too.
“What’s happened, Professor?” asked Harry.
“Malfoy here cast a very powerful, very Dark Stinging Jinx at him is what happened. A classmate who was with Albus found Wood, Wood found Hagrid, Hagrid found me, I found Poppy.”
Two other people briskly walked into the room. “Professor,” said Draco Malfoy.
“Good evening, Malfoy, Astoria. Astoria, I do not believe you’ve met the Potters,” said McGonagall.
“Potter- Harry, Ginny, I’m terribly sorry,” said Draco. He turned on his son. “And you! What have I told you about using magic on innocent people?”
“Not to,” muttered Scorpius.
“And why have I told you not to?”
“Because I wouldn’t fancy anyone doing that to me.”
“And where did you learn that spell you used?” asked Draco.
“In the school library,” said Scorpius.
“Excuse me-” said McGonagall.
“In the Restricted section,” finished Scorpius. Astoria pulled her son over and scolded him. Draco spoke with a Healer.
“Oh, for Merlin’s sake, Malfoy, I haven’t got a care in the world! I need to see Albus!” choked Ginny.
“Right this way, Mr. and Mrs. Potter,” said another Healer.
