“Lily, come here,” said Harry. Lily hid behind her dad. “Lily, this is Professor Minerva McGonagall. She is the Headmaster of Hogwarts and the Head of Gryffindor House.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Professor Minerva McGonagall,” said Lily shyly.
“Likewise, Ms. Potter,” said McGonagall.
“Lily, do you want to stay with Professor McGonagall or do you want to see your brother?” asked Harry.
“Stay with Professor McGonagall,” she said.
Harry looked at his former professor. “Oh, very well,” she said. “But not because of any of your accomplishments, Potter!”
“Of course, Professor. James, come on,” said Harry. James grumbled about why he couldn’t stay with McGonagall, then he realized what he was saying.
“Oh, Albus!” cried Ginny, rushing to his bed.
“Mrs. Potter, Albus has been hit with a very strong Stinging Jinx. It isn’t just a jinx, though. Half of it’s a curse. The Diagnosis claims he’s allergic to bees,” said the Healer.
“No! Albus, no, he can’t die -please don’t let him-”
“Rest assured, Mrs. Potter, your son is alright for now, considering this wasn’t an actual bee. He is going to stay for the rest of the day for observation, you can pick him up at five o’ clock. I’ll supply you with all of the essential potions, of course, and the stinging has subsided.
“Albus, if you feel any pain at all, alert someone immediately. It could be an allergic reaction to the jinx and/or curse,” said the Healer.
“Thank you,” said Ginny gratefully. She saw Albus stir.
“Mu- Mum? You’re here? At Hogwarts? Why? Is there something wrong with James or Lily?”
James laughed. “Mate, you’re in St. Mungo’s! There’s nothing wrong with us, there is something wrong with you, though, something deadly… BOO!”
“James, that is enough,” said Harry.
After Ginny was finished glaring at James, she turned to Albus. “On the Hogwarts Express, you were hit with a Stinging Jinx.” She omitted the part where it was a curse. “You’ll be here until five and then Dad and I will come take you home.”
“Home? HOME! What? Why?”
Ginny and Harry glanced at each other.
“Come on, Mum! I’m absolutely fine!” protested Albus.
“Well… oh, alright. But Rose is going to help you with everything you need,” said Ginny.
“No, either you come home and let me take care of you, or you let Rosie take care of you. I’m sure you fancy the latter more than the former, Albus.”
Albus raised his eyebrows. “Fine.”
McGonagall created a Portkey and took James, herself and Scorpius back to Hogwarts. And though it did take a while for five o’ clock to come around, McGonagall finally went back to retrieve Albus. She took him back to Hogwarts. James was strictly ordered to help Albus as well, so he helped him into the boys’ dormitories. “Don’t worry, Al, you’ll be better in no time.”
James isn’t usually comforting like that. “Thanks, James.”
Albus didn’t realize how tired he was. As soon as James helped him into bed, he immediately fell asleep.
