Wahoo!!! The long wait is over! Tis Christmas! Yay!
Today, I’d like to share with you the books I got this holiday season. 😀
Ta-da! Aren’t they beeyootiful? Let’s start book chattin’!
**Warning: I talk about “General Hospital” spoilers from Friday’s episode, so if you’re into the show, you should stop reading after I finish talking about Teardrop. I’ll put another warning down there…**
Author: Libba Bray
Summary: Evie O’Neill has been exiled from her boring old hometown and shipped off to the bustling streets of New York City—and she is pos-i-tute-ly ecstatic. It’s 1926, and New York is filled with speakeasies, Ziegfeld girls, and rakish pickpockets. The only catch is that she has to live with her uncle Will and his unhealthy obsession with the occult.
Evie worries he’ll discover her darkest secret: a supernatural power that has only brought her trouble so far. But when the police find a murdered girl branded with a cryptic symbol and Will is called to the scene, Evie realizes her gift could help catch a serial killer.
As Evie jumps headlong into a dance with a murderer, other stories unfold in the city that never sleeps. A young man named Memphis is caught between two worlds. A chorus girl named Theta is running from her past. A student named Jericho hides a shocking secret. And unknown to all, something dark and evil has awakened. -Goodreads
I’ve heard a lot about this book in the BookTube community, so I was really excited to have this! It’s historical fiction and YA, which is a cool mix. The summary sounds interesting and I’m sooo excited to get crackin’!
Author: Cassandra Clare, Joshua Lewis

Now in its twenty-seventh edition, the Codex covers it all: the history and laws of our world; how to identify, interact with, and, if necessary, kill that world’s many colorful denizens; which end of the stele is the end you write with. Geography, history, magic, and zoology textbooks all rolled into one, the Codex is here to help new Shadowhunters navigate the beautiful, often brutal world that we inhabit.
Finally available in a smart, modern edition using all of today’s most exciting printing techniques, and suitable for carrying unglamoured through the mundane world, the Codex has been the young Shadowhunter’s best friend since the thirteenth century. By the flipping Angel. Oh my gods… this book is so beautiful! I first saw it at Target a few weeks ago when I went to get Champion, and I couldn’t resist flipping through it then. It’s illustrated and the cover is just gorgeous. I’ve come to adore Cassandra Clare’s books, and I’m positive I’ll worship this one, as well!
Author: Richelle Mead
Summary: Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives.
In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her. . .
But the struggle isn’t over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there’s still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure — and re-education — looms larger than ever.
Pulses will race throughout this smoldering fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe. -Goodreads
Again, trying not to read the summary. But ohmysweetgoodness. I have it. I own The Fiery Heart. YES!!!
I know where the title came from!!! I’m not going to say anything (I still haven’t finished The Indigo Spell >.<), but… heheh. I’m in fangirl heaven.
Author: Lauren Kate
Summary: Never, ever cry… Seventeen-year-old Eureka won’t let anyone close enough to feel her pain. After her mother was killed in a freak accident, the things she used to love hold no meaning. She wants to escape, but one thing holds her back: Ander, the boy who is everywhere she goes, whose turquoise eyes are like the ocean. And then Eureka uncovers an ancient tale of romance and heartbreak, about a girl who cried an entire continent into the sea. Suddenly her mother’s death and Ander’s appearance seem connected, and her life takes on dark undercurrents that don’t make sense. Can everything you love be washed away? -Goodreads
Hmm. Okay. First of all, this cover is gorgeous! I think the covers on all of Lauren Kate’s books are fantastic… but… I didn’t have good luck with Ms. Kate as I read Fallen.
The synopsis does sound intriguing, though. And this picture really doesn’t do the book justice. I’m getting excited!
**Talking about GH, now…**
You’re probably wondering what that little magazine is at the bottom. Heheh. That’s, uh, that’s an ABC Soaps magazine. Don’t judge! XD But seriously. Did you see Friday’s episode of “General Hospital?” O. M. G. And Morgan?! When he shot Max? Waaaahhh!!! That was so sad! And he’s known Max since he was a baby! Will he and Sonny reunite? Gahh! All this wouldn’t have happened if Morgan had kept the secret about Kiki to himself. OR if he just didn’t lie! I mean, come on! (Bryan Craig is an excellent actor, though. Morgan sounded so agonized when he was all, “I didn’t mean to!” And his voice was cracking and the way he ran out of Sonny’s warehouse… poor Morgan DX)
**I’m done spoilering about GH!**
That’s all for now! Did you get any books for Christmas? What were they?
