The Very Inspiring Blogger Award!

Very inspiring blogger awardHey, everyone!  I was nominated for the Very Inspiring Blogger award, and I was so excited 😀  I was nominated by two people, actually, which was even more exciting!  The bloggers who nominated me are Stefani @ Caught Read Handed and Lily @ wordsweheart.  Thanks, guys!  I’m so happy for the nomination and am thrilled that you thought of my blog!

Edit: *drums fingers on keyboard* So.  This post was supposed to go up hours ago, and I had posted it… and the part that was supposed to show all of my nominees, the most important part of the post… was blank.

NOOOOOOOO.  I go into my drafts, and it says there are only two revisions.  I look at the revisions, and none of them are what was supposed to go up when I hit publish.  Ugh.  So then I was in a funk and mad with WordPress.  But, hey!  It’s a new day, and I’ve still got to nominate some people!

Here are the rules for this award:

1. Thank and link the amazing person who nominated you.
2. List the rules and display the award.
3. Share seven facts about yourself.
4. Nominate 15 other amazing blogs and comment on their posts to let them know they have been nominated.
5. Optional: Proudly display the award logo on your blog and follow the blogger who nominated you.

Alright!  Here are seven facts about me!

  • I just got back from vacation and I was able to see some old friends.
  • I am reading Hex Hall right now and am loving it.  Archer ❤
  • Whenever I’m talking about other bloggers and I type their name, I always check it a million times to make sure I didn’t misspell it or anything!
  • I currently have 30 unread books on my bookshelf.  Well, 33 if you count library books.  How about you?
  • I can’t go a day without turning on my Kindle and listening to Spotify.
  • My nightly routine is: turn on Spotify.  Check WordPress for any new notifications/catch up with other blogs/like, comment, etc. (not that I don’t do this throughout the day XD).  Pinterest.  YouTube.  Stare at the ceiling and wonder why chocolate is called “chocolate,” why sheets are called “sheets,” and why music is called “music.”
  • I’d like to grow my CD collection.  I don’t really buy digital music anymore (which is really inconvenient when I’m going somewhere, because then I’m stuck listening to either what’s on the radio or music that’s on my iPod that I haven’t listened to in years), as I use Internet radio, but I really want to own physical copies of my favorite music.
  • Bonus Fact: I’m Team Gale.  Don’t look at me like that.

My Nominees… Take 2!

  • Topaz @ Topaz Winters — An amazing young author whose posts always grab my attention and never fail to amuse me 😀  I hope I can read her first book!  Her posts always put me in the writing mood!
  • Mishka @ A Writer’s Life For Me. — Yet another author!  I love reading Mishka’s blog, and I love the Progress Reports included at the end of each post.
  • Chloe @ foodlikecake — Whenever one of her posts pops up in my reader, I’m always excited to see what she’s made next!  Those desserts… so mouth watering.  I always want to get baking after reading this blog!  And the photographs of each new creation totally enhance that 😀
  • TK @ Chapter TK — A blogger whose thought-provoking posts are always refreshing to read.  It’s always a nice treat to read one of her posts (which are always interesting!).
  • Lynette @ Lynette Noni — It’s author’s galore over here! XD Her posts are always looked-forward to… is that grammatically correct? O_o You know what I mean.  Would “highly anticipated” flow better with that sentence?

I highly recommend you check out these bloggers, because they’re awesome… do I need a better reason? 😀

Alright, guys.  I’m definitely saving this to drafts before hitting publish this time.  I already know the punishment of not doing that >.<

If you, my wonderful nominees, choose to accept this award, then yay!  If not, that’s fine, too 😀  Your blogs still inspire me, and I look forward to more awesome posts from you all.

That’s all for now!  And thanks again to Stefani and Lily for nominating me for this award!  They definitely deserved it, too!

  1. Congrats on the award! Stefani nominated me too – I’m posting tomorrow. 🙂 I was having problems with WP recently – it ate an entire post! Thankfully, I type up my rough drafts in Word, so I didn’t have to start from scratch.
I’ve never stopped to count my unread books, but I’m sure it’s at least 30.
Can you explain why you’re Team Gale? I’m not judging, I’m just curious. 🙂

    1. Thank you! And congrats to you, too 😀 I should start typing my posts in Documents or something—I never think to do that.

Sure! He gets so much hate, but I sometimes wonder if people stop and look at everything he’s done, and not just his mistakes. I think that Gale had it really rough, despite not having to participate in the Hunger Games. He had a whole family to support. His name was entered so many times, increasing his chances of being thrown into the Games, just so he could bring a little more food home to his family.

It’s not like Gale was evil or anything. He helped many people out of District 12 as it was being destroyed. He stood up for what he believed in (not that they all didn’t do that), and it was obvious he was quite outspoken from that first scene with him and Katniss in the first book. He had so much anger pent up inside, aimed toward the Capitol.

Gale did make some mistakes (everyone does), but I think he played a big part in stopping the Games, and stopping their horrible government, too.

Wow, that was really lengthy! Haha, but those are the reasons why I’m Team Gale. Thanks for asking! 😀

      1. Thanks! 🙂

Everything you say about Gale is true. I don’t hate Gale, not at all, I just prefer Peeta. 🙂 I think I’m drawn to his kindness, while being a little put off by Gale’s (completely justified) anger. Honestly, I think part of the reason I’m not terribly fond of Gale is Liam Hemsworth’s rather wooden portrayal in the films, which is really a shame. I’m currently re-reading Mockingjay, and I’m going to really try to focus on Gale as a character. I doubt I’ll convert, but I’d like to appreciate him more, especially given that both Katniss AND Peeta really do like him. 🙂

  2. So I would definitely recommend typing up posts in Word or something first. I do this even if it’s a Top Ten Tuesday or just a list, because I would HATE it if I lost it and had to re-do. I have a whole folder of all of my posts saved on my computer and my external hard drive. I’m paranoid. Lol.
I have a huge TBR pile, including six books checked out from the library and three or four e-ARCs to read. Yikes.
I’m on YouTube all the time! Are there any YouTubers you watch? I’ve been thinking about doing it for a while.

    1. Haha, definitely learned that lesson the hard way!

Eeek! I’ve got two books checked out from the library, now. At least the pile’s going down… I’ve actually never read an ARC before!

Oh, man, YouTube is one of my favorite Internet locations xD I watch quite a few YouTubers. I absolutely adore BookTube, but I also watch some other YouTubers like Connor Franta and IISuperwomanII, haha. I only recently discovered a lot of these YouTubers (though I’ve been watching BookTube for about a year now), and their videos are hilarious 😀

      1. I LOVE YouTubers. I watch Connor Franta, too! I’ve never heard of IISuperwomanII, but I’ll check out that channel for sure. I also watch Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan, and Joe Sugg a lot. And Jenna Marbles. And several others. Haha.
I’m actually the opposite: I just got into BookTube, but have been watching YouTubers for a long time. Haha.

      2. IISuperwomanII is the BEST! Haha, she and Connor Franta did a collab video on both of their channels, which is how I discovered her. I still haven’t gotten into Tyler Oakley, but Jenna Marbles is hysterical xD

If you ever make YouTube videos, let me know! I’d love to watch 😀 I’m quite curious about making videos, too, but I’m super shy, heheh. I’m sure I’d sound awkward, even talking to a camera XD

      3. I’ll definitely check her out. I think Tyler Oakley is so funny. He just doesn’t care what anyone thinks, and that’s why I love him.
I will! I’m super nervous. I’m not really that shy (I used to be), but I’m worried no one will care what I have to say or want to watch me.
