What’s Up?

I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve posted, but that’s probably because I’m so used to posting on an almost daily basis.  But school has really been eating me alive. :O

I’ve been so busy with school and studying, that I haven’t had much time to read or blog much.  I’m in another reading slump, which sucks, but I’m trying to work my way out of it.  For now I’m going to be focusing on books I’m excited about rather than try to start any new series, so I’ll at least know that I’ll probably like the book I’m reading.

I’ve also been falling behind with catching up with other bloggers, which I love doing.  I love reading your blogs and reviews, and seeing what you’re up to.  Don’t think I’ve forgotten about your blog (or mine, for that matter!), because I haven’t. 😀 I’m really looking forward to whatever day off I have next so I can just chill and try to read or something.

Recently I was nominated for two awards, the One Lovely Blog Award by Rainbow Cakes and Rocky Road, and the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award by alwaysopinionatedgirl.  Thank you guys so much for these nominations, it’s always exciting to receive a blogging award! 😀

That’s all for now.  I wanted to write this short little post to update you guys on what’s been going on.  How are you doing?  What are some easy reads that have helped you get out of reading slumps?  And how do you manage your time between school and blogging?  Let me know!

  1. I’ve had two reading slumps this year, the first I was saved by the Hunger Games, the second by Skulduggery Pleasant. I hope you find a book that gets you out of your slump, that’s so annoying. Don’t worry about blogging, real life comes first. I hope things calm down for you though.

    1. Thank you! I really hope things start to calm down as well. 🙂

I’ve had two pretty major reading slumps this year, the second being this one, and it really is annoying. I’m glad you were able to escape the vicious claws of your reading slump—hopefully I can, too!

  2. Studies totally eat up all of your time! As for reading slumps, they happen. I go through phases of reading like a maniac to reading next to nothing. *shrugs* ‘Tis the way of the world of the bookish. Heh heh. 🙂

    1. They do! I don’t remember classes being this hard last year, haha. Hopefully I can get back to the reading like a maniac side of the world of the bookish 😀 I did read a tiny bit today, so I think that’s a start.

  3. I know exactly how you feel about the reading slump. I’m in one right now, and it’s awful. I’m not sure what I’m going to do to get out of it. So far, I’ve only read two books this month. Hopefully, I come up with something, and I hope you get out of yours too. 🙂

  4. I’ve totally been in a posting slump as well since uni has started, it’s so hard to find the time to read all the books I want to read and don’t want to keep posting totally random things! I also haven’t had time to check many other blogs either, but alas here I am and I’m glad to know I’m not the only one super busy! XD I hope you find some new books to read to get out of your reading slump, I was in one as well until I started reading Heir of Fire! 😀

    1. Yeah, I was hoping I wasn’t the only one super busy too! But all the comments have proved that other people are preoccupied with studies as well, so it makes me feel slightly less guilty, haha. I didn’t want to be posting random things, either.

Ooh, maybe I should start the Throne of Glass series. The first book has been sitting on my self for months… Perhaps it’s time. 😀

  5. Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been in a reading slump. 😦 I’ve been very well – we just had a four day weekend so I’m relaxed and ready for a new week! Hopefully things lighten up for you soon. xx

  6. Good luck with school! I know it can be so hectic trying to balance everything out, but somehow you can make it through. I wish I had some awesome advice to give you on how to balance the two, but I don’t. Scheduling is really awesome, because when you do have blogging inspiration and free time occurring simultaneously, you can schedule the extra posts so that you don’t have to worry about the blog not having content!

As for getting out of a reading slump … I have no idea. Almost all of my reads lately have been two stars, with very few exceptions, and I have no idea how to fix it D: The only thing I can think of is reading a favourite book or a book by your favourite author? Hopefully your reading slump ends soon!

    1. Thank you! It has been hectic, but I think I’m finally settling into my school schedule and am finding more and more extra time to read. Scheduling future posts is a really good idea! I actually don’t think I’ve ever used that feature in my two years of blogging xD I’ll definitely have to try that out!

Reading slumps are the worst. I’m sorry you haven’t been enjoying your recent reads. Are there any books you’re looking forward to the release of? I know that kind of prodded me out of my reading slump 😀 I recently read a book by one of my favorite authors, and though it didn’t live up to my expectations, it at least got me reading again. I hope you can find a book that you really enjoy!
